Japan 2023
I try to get out of Seattle as often as I can. Often, I choose to travel abroad if I can.
This year, I was lucky enough to travel to Japan, something I had wanted to do since I was young. We visited in the fall when it was still relatively warm, and persimmons were coming into season. One unique thing about this trip was the fall foliage had yet to turn due to an abnormally warm fall and late summer season.
We included one week in Kyoto, day trips to Osaka, Hiroshima, Nara, and Hakone, and another whole week in Tokyo.
Coming up the mountain during sunset to eat the hard-boiled eggs in Hakone. Mt Fuji is on the right and sulfur mines to the left. This is absolutely my favorite memory from this trip and Im’m so glad I get to share it with you.
It is rumored that you will live another 7 years if you eat the eggs.
